Oyo APC Communication and Strategy Frontiers (CSF), a group of volunteers promoting the All Progressives Congress in Oyo state, Oyo APC, under the leadership of Chief Akin Oke (JP) has expressed shock and disbelief over the death of Reverend (Mrs) ‘Tola Oyediran as reported yesterday in Ibadan.
The deceased, who was the first child of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, was until her demise the Chairman of the African Newspapers Nigeria PLC (Publishers of the Tribune titles) and minister of God.
CSF in a statement issued by its Director-General, Mr. Wale Olanrewaju, and Director of Organizations, Hon Olawale Sadare , as circulated by the APC-CSF, Secretary, Hon Monsuru Adeyemo , described Mrs Oyediran as a true daughter of the Sage who lived a purposeful and fulfilled life with wonderful testimonies to show for it.
“The news of Rev. Tola Oyediran’s transition was received on Friday afternoon with utter disbelief and rude shock as we were looking forward to celebrating her 80th birthday on December 1, 2020 in view of the fact that we held her in high esteem as a true daughter of the best President Nigeria never had- Chief Obafemi Awolowo who left a vacuum we have still not been able to fill after 33 years.
"Rev. Oyediran was an epitome of decency, simplicity and love. She devoted her life to the protection of the legacy of her father and also service of God who she served diligently and sincerely until she breathed her last. We would have loved to have her around for a longer period of time in view of the fact that she was always there to play the role expected of her to the Progressive family in the country. "As we mourn her transition at this inauspicious time, we find solace in the fact that she lived a fulfilled life. Therefore, we use this avenue to convey our heartfelt sympathy to the Awolowo and Oyediran families as we pray God to grant her eternal rest." CSF concluded.
