Lobi Stars Goal-Keeper Daniel Atsaka believes that Nigeria Professional Football League season should not end below the championship level. Daniel whose team is currently ranked third on the log behind table-toppers Plateau United said this in a chat with Sports Personality Kenny Bamidele.
Atsaka was quick to reject such an attempt, reiterating that the league could still be concluded with few games left.
“I don’t think the league should be scrapped, the league can still be concluded with a few games left, not just because Lobi Stars stand a chance, but there is still time to resume the and round up for a short while”
Nigerians went haywire when Plateau United coach Abdul Maikaba, urged the League Management Company to end the league the way it is and award the aforementioned Jos based side the title. Some say it will be a total injustice to end the league the way it is.
Atsaka stated that he is still oblivious of the reason why people believe local base, Goal-Keepers cannot do well with the National Team, stating that GK’s should be picked on merits.
While many have slammed the structure of Nigeria Professional Football League, the aforesaid Lobi Stars goal-keeper was full of praise for the League’s progression, but still admitted that a lot still needs to be done.
