As 2020 Oro Festival begins in Iseyin today, Aseyin of Iseyin Land, Oba Dr. Abdulganiyy Adekunle Salau, JP, DVM, Oloogunebi-Ajinese I has said that women are free to go about their daily businesses.
The monarch stated this in a chat with National PointBlank in his palace today.
According to Oba Dr. Salau, the Oro festival starts today by 6pm as the worshippers are being expected at the palace for necessary rituals.
Ajinese explained that between 5:30 am to 10pm tomorrow, Monday till Friday, women are expected to go about their daily activities and businesses.
“Except for lazy women, they are all free to do their businesses. Nobody will disturb them”, Aseyin stressed.
The royal father however declared that no woman is allowed to come out for any reason on the 7th day, Saturday 26th September, 2020 and the 17th day, Tuesday 6th October, 2020.
He appealed to people in Iseyin to adhere strictly to this arrangement while admonishing the Oro worshippers to sustain the existing peace throughout the period of the festival.
